Born in 1974 in the U.S. Virgin Islands, Reuben Rogers is a versatile jazz bassist and composer who blends the calypso and reggae rhythms of his native islands with gospel and jazz influences. He has become one of the most in-demand and distinctive bassists in modern jazz, maintaining long-term collaborations with artists including Charles Lloyd, Joshua Redman, Wynton Marsalis, and Roy Hargrove, while serving as an educator committed to supporting music education in the Caribbean.
